Hi, I'm Steve Woods I am building this site to allow people to teach themselves to play guitar. All you need to get started is a guitar (obviously) and commitment (you won’t get good overnight).
Click on the guitar picks above (or quick links)to get started.
My advice and teaching comes in the form of mini films. Watch them as many times as you need to. I find it useful to set media player to repeat mode so you don’t have to keep pressing play.
Start cheap you can find a guitar in a junk market for a little as a fiver. Once you can play get a better one Don’t rush out and spend a lot of money because not everybody has the commitment and patients to learn and you may end up with a very expensive ornament.
If you practice for an hour a day for two weeks you will see a big difference, the more time you spend practicing the better you will become. Sometimes learning with a friend will help and you are already a step closer to forming a group.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank my first Guitar Club at Woodchurch Road Primary School who helped me prove you can teach a large group to play guitar at the same time. Although I will not name them they know who they are and your songs and music will always be with me especially: Flying Pigs, I Hate School, Lucky Star, Jam and You Are What You Are.
All you need to do to start is learn the first chord pattern and write your own song to fit it. Have fun learning and I hope to hear from you soon.
Steve
